The Dept of Accountancy was founded at the Polytechnic’s inception in 1979.A At the time, it offered only the Nigerian National Diploma (NND).A Over the years, the dept expanded its academic offerings to meet industry and professional standards, adapting to modern needs and global trends in finance and management.

The Dept of Business Admin & Mgt was founded in 1979 at the Polytechnic’s inception with 32 students in the NND programme.A In 1981, the HND programme was introduced with 21 students.A Over time, the dept expanded to accommodate more students and programmes.

The Dept of Banking & Finance was set up in 2009.A Initially, the Diploma in Banking & Finance was run under the Dept of Accountancy with 127 students.A With its establishment, the dept gained full independence in academic operations, expanding its curriculum.
